About the event

Who should praise the Lord and how?

The Bible says: Psalm 150:1-6

Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his strong hold! Praise him for his mighty acts, praise him according to the excellency of his majesty! Praise him with the sound of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre! Praise him with tambourines and dancing, praise him with the stringed instruments and flutes! Praise him with resounding cymbals, praise him with the resounding cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Hallelujah!

Praise is a spiritual sacrifice.

The Bible says: Hebrews 13:15

Through him, therefore, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Praise is thanking God for all His gifts.

The Bible says: Psalm 103:2

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."

Let us praise God for forgiveness and answered prayers.

The Bible says: Psalm 65:2-4

Praise be to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall be the fulfillment of the vows. You who hear prayer, to you all flesh will come. Many transgressions have overwhelmed me, but you have forgiven our iniquities.

All creation is like a melody, praising the Lord for his existence and actions.

The Bible says: Psalm 148:1-14

Hallelujah. Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his hosts. Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all shining stars. Praise him, heavens of heavens and the waters that are above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created. And he gave them a place forever and ever; he gave them a statute that they cannot break. Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea monsters and all the currents of the sea, fire and hail, snow and smoke, the storm that executes his word, mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds, kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all judges of the earth, both young men and maidens, old men and boys! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven. He lifts up a horn for his people, and praise is heard by all his worshipers, by the children of Israel, the people who are near to him. Hallelujah.”

We praise the Lord for his power.

The Bible says: Psalm 21:14

O Lord, exalt yourself in your power! We will sing and praise your mighty acts!

It is appropriate to praise the Lord with music.

The Bible says: Psalm 33:1-4

Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous ones! Praise is fitting for the pure in heart. Praise the Lord with the harp, play before him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song, play on the stringed instrument with joyful shouting. For the word of the Lord is trustworthy, and all his works are done in faithfulness.

Let us praise the Lord even when things go badly.

The Bible says: Psalm 34:2-4

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and rejoice. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Let's praise the Lord daily.

The Bible says: Psalm 61:9

Then I will sing praises to your name forever, and fulfill my vows day by day.

Let us praise Him for turning sorrow into joy.

The Bible says: Psalm 30:12-13

You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy. That my soul may sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

Let us praise God for his goodness.

The Bible says: Psalm 107:8-9

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his lovingkindness and for his wonderful works to the children of men, for he satisfies the hungry soul and fills the hungry soul with good things.
